We were delighted to be approached by Hachette UK Distribution to organise a plan an event for their staff to celebrate a new partnership with Bloomsbury Publishing.

The Brief 

We were tasked with creating a memorable event for Hachette UK staff to celebrate Bloomsbury Publishing’s move to Hachette UK Distribution. The brief was to host an afternoon tea that would bring everyone together in a unique setting. Staff would need to come together at different times in different areas of the distribution centre. The event not only celebrated the partnership but also offered a moment for staff to connect and enjoy a special afternoon.

The Event

The event kicked off with coffee and pastries for guests from Bloomsbury, setting a relaxed tone for the day. Guests also then enjoyed guided tours of the warehouse, offering a glimpse into Hachette’s impressive facilities. The highlight of the afternoon was a delicious afternoon tea for 250 staff, held on the mezzanine floor, accompanied by presentations from both Bloomsbury and Hachette about the partnership. Afterwards a second seating of afternoon tea was arranged for staff on a later shift in a separate space. In order to ensure no one missed out, extra servings were thoughtfully boxed up and refrigerated for the warehouse nightshift team.

We produced the event with:

  • Full corporate event management during the day
  • Black Draped Area on mezzanine floor area – 25m x 16m open to show racking. Fully carpeted.
  • Blue carpet entrance
  • 4m wide x 2m deep x 3ft high stage with steps to one side, valance to front. Carpeted with hand rail to sides
  • 4m wide x 2.5m high LED screen
  • Power Distribution
  • Full audio system for stage
  • Sound engineers
  • Video technicians
  • Full afternoon tea served in 3 sittings for different staff, including all crockery and linen
  • Catering Manager
  • Serving staff
  • Refridgeration
  • 42 x Round Table
  • 250 x Oak chairs
  • Crew
  • Post-event clear up
