A literature-themed 50th birthday party

A 50^th birthday is a great milestone and we love organising parties to mark the occasion.  We recently worked with a fantastic client who wanted a literature theme for her party.

The marquee featured a ‘library’ style bar area with cosy Chesterfield sofas, subtle lighting, and life-size cut-outs of literary greats including William Shakespeare and Benedict Cumberbatch!  Then of course a chequerboard dancefloor for later in the evening.

SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED CANAPÉS

The wonderful team at Love Bites provided the most incredible canapés, specifically designed to complement the birthday girls’ theme.  Guests were treated to delights including parmesan biscuit, basil pesto, cucumber twist, and savory spun sugar champagne glass toppers, smoked salmon black cones, beetroot Chantilly and wasabi caviar, silver dusted Faberge eggs, pepper and parmesan tuille with truffle mayonnaise, chicken liver parfait with cherry tomatoes and greek basil, Cotswold lamb, rosemary jus and mint jelly and deconstructed beef wellington, mushroom duxelles, and horseradish cream.

Sweet treats included Tuscan blond liquid lollipops with popping candy, raspberry ripple glitter nipples with raspberry liqueur, and neon lemon and yuzu possets.  The incredible food was set off by LED-lit platters, mirrors, dramatic dry ice, perspex cone towers, and usherette trays.
